Microsoft has released a RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP RAW image files contain the original, uncompressed image data that your digital camera captures when it takes a picture. Most people set their cameras to store the jpeg image which is compressed and some quality is lost. Anyone interested is using the original data and seeing what the camera sees exactly, this utility will help. Apparently there are a few quircks with the way the installation messes with your file associations, so use with caution.
